Minutes of the meeting held on:

Monday 3 August 2009

.

1. Apologies were received from E Riches, P Duncan, V Kilgour, M Craig. Present: D Macgregor, M Scott Hayward, B Simpson, L Matthews, L Roger and 4 local residents.

2) Minutes of the June meeting were approved.

3) University wind farm update. We have received the most recent Project Board Update from the University. It covers the decision on the application for the monitoring mast (delayed until September) and responses from SNH regarding the scoping study. We have been invited to send representatives to the next Project Board meeting, as agreed at the Liaison Group. This will be on 19 August. L Matthews and L Roger can attend. Meanwhile, we have had an offer of an independent source of information, which might prove helpful in assessing the forthcoming applications, in the form of Professor M Horner, of the University of Dundee.

4) Dunino footbridge. The trees have now been cut back and it is hoped that work can start soon. A Roger is re-costing the steel and contacting someone who can help with concreting.

5) Street lighting. At a site meeting at the stump, it was agreed that it would be painted and capped. Two other lights will also be painted.

6) Gardens Open Day and village barbecue - This was a great success, with £702 being raised for Children 1st. The teas were excellent, and the barbecue most enjoyable. The art exhibition also added an extra dimension to the day's proceedings. Thanks to all who took part and came along. It was agreed that the Community Council would cover the Hall rent for the day.

7) The Core Path route next to the School is over run and impassable due to the Japanese knotweed.

8) A successful beach clean up took place on 22 June, with 23 people taking part. Thanks to all who came along.

9) Refuse collection along non tarmac roads. No further correspondence from the Council, but this is something that the Councillors are pursuing across the district.

10) Recent car crashes at the main road junction - it is hoped that some press coverage may highlight the danger.

11) The Boarhills/No Through Road sign - found and resurrected!

12) Planning applications. Brownhills departure hearing is on 19 August at Kilrymont, 6.30 pm. It is thought that the caravan site will have to apply for permission for the new area next to the entrance.
