Minutes of the meeting held on:
Monday 1 June 2009.
1.
Apologies were received from E Riches, P Duncan, N Eedle. Present: D Macgregor, M Scott Hayward, B Simpson, M Craig, V Kilgour, S Raeside, L Matthews, L Roger and 7 local residents.
2) Minutes of the April meeting were approved.
3) University wind farm update. The first liaison group meeting has taken place (20 April). Minutes are circulated separately, plus a copy of the presentation. Progress is slow, and it was agreed not to hold a second liaison meeting until there is something to discuss. Although the University arranged the meeting on a date to suit, they did not circulate an agenda until the day of the meeting. V Kilgour has notes taken at a meeting she attended about wind farms at the University. Contact her if you wish to see them. It was noted that there is interest in establishing a wind farm at S Kinaldy/Lingo.
4) Dunino footbridge. RS still to speak to adjacent landowners re trees. Mr Allardyce has reported that trees on his side of the burn have already been cut back. LR to contact A Roger once we know the site is ready.
5) Street lighting. It was agreed that we would like the stump of the old light removed, if possible. D Macgregor is further investigating its removal and how this could be paid for. There is dissatisfaction about the state of the track to the hall after cabling was laid for the new street light.
6) Gardens Open Day and village barbecue - Sunday 2 August. Plans well under way. Those interested in opening their gardens are asked to get in touch. There will also be an art exhibition in the Hall.
7) There is work on the Core Path route by the SWT next to the School. Japanese knotweed is problematic, as it is down at Burnside. Eradication is v difficult.
8) A beach clean up is being organised for Monday 22 June. Meet at Boarhills farm potato sheds at 6.30 pm. A barbecue will follow it, on a bonfire. BYO sausage.
9) Refuse collection. A further letter has been received from the Council re bin collection along non tarmac roads.
10) Recent car crashes at the main road junction highlight the danger to pedestrians. D Macgregor to further pursue warning or speed limit signs. P Kushner, who has photographic evidence, could pass it to the press to encourage action.
11) The Boarhills/No Through Road sign is still missing. No sign of it in the field. The Council has been in touch re its replacement.
12) The parapet on the bridge at Kenlygreen has been damaged.
