Minutes of the meeting held on:
Monday 6 April 2009.
1. Apologies were received from E Riches, V Kilgour, L Matthews, S Raeside, P and S Kushner. Present: D Macgregor, M Craig, B Simpson, P Duncan, L Roger and 4 local residents.
2. Minutes of the February meeting were approved.
3. University Wind farm update. The University has asked us to advise dates over the next fortnight when we would be able to attend the inaugural liaison group meeting, along with representatives from Kingsbarns CC. LR to inform R Yarr that 20th and 22nd April are suitable (evening meeting, at the University).
4. Dunino footbridge. Total funding of c£2000 is now in place, thanks to generous support from the Locality Budget. RS to speak to adjacent landowners re trees. It is hoped to carry out the work in June, after the peak of the spring farm work has passed.
5.Street lighting. It was agreed that we would like the stump of the old light removed, if possible. D Macgregor is investigating.
6. Gardens Open Day and village barbecue - Sunday 2 August. Those interested in helping are asked to attend a meeting on Wednesday 29 April, 6pm at the Village Hall. Those interested in opening their gardens are asked to get in touch. L Ogilvie suggested we could also have an art exhibition in the Hall while teas were being served.
7. AOB There appears to be no progress for the proposed Core Path route next to the School. A beach clean up is required, as it is some time since one was carried out. LR to contact Robbie Blyth of the Council. A weekday evening may be the best option. Refuse collection. A number of households have received a letter from the Council informing them that bins will no longer be uplifted due to the condition of the access roads (eg Burnside, Chesterhill). It would appear that other rural districts have had similar warnings, and an urgent meeting is being sought by local Councillors to address this with Environmental Services. There seems to be a surfeit of 40 mph signs through Dunino, several of which are currently horizontal! D Macgregor is investigating. Quad bikes have been reported locally using the coastal path and other tracks, without the landowners' permission, as well as the main public roads. When approached, they have been somewhat threatening. It would appear that this is illegal without permission, and such incidences should be reported to the Police. If possible, take photos of them as evidence. There is some support for extending the 30 mph limits from the Church to Falside Smiddy. If this were not possible, a flashing warning sign advising vehicles' speed or "Slow Down" as the junction is approached would be a benefit. There will be a firework display at Fairmont Hotel on Saturday 11th April at 10 pm. Since the meeting, we have been advised that Scottish Water hope that the new main will be finished by 30 April. .
