Minutes of the meeting held on Monday 22 October at 7.30 pm, Boarhills Village Hall
Present: Councillor M Scott-Hayward, B Simpson, P Duncan, L Matthews, V
Kilgour, S Raeside, R Pegden, M Craig, C Houston, L Roger
Apologies: B Houston.
Councillor Scott-Hayward chaired the inaugural meeting. The following appointments were made:
Chairman: B Simpson
Vice Chairman: S Raeside
Secretary: L Roger
Treasurer: P Duncan
Community councillors also elected - L Matthews, V Kilgour.
It was agreed that M Craig be co-opted, and that C Houston will attend meetings
as an observer until her 18th Birthday next April, when she can be officially
co-opted. This will bring our CC up to the full compliment of 8 members.
Matters arising:
• Beley Bridge planning application. Although the NE Fife Committee
approved it, it has been called in to the Central Committee for further
consideration. It was agreed that the Secretary write in support, asking
them to respect the views of the NE committee and the Community Council.
• Flooding at Cardene. Problems are not resolved.
• Neighbourhood watch – we await 6 signs. (Subsequently L Roger heard from Gordon Ball that signs for our area have been commissioned and will shortly be available. It is thought that we will not have to pay for them).
• The Departure Hearing for the Fairmont planning application will take place on Thursday 25th October in Boarhills.
• Recent road patching resulting in the closure of the A917 caused some disruption, and it would be helpful if the community could receive direct notice of such closures. However, it appears that the reporting mechanism does not allow for this.
• New water main: still no official confirmation of the project,
but some local landowners have been approached.
